Irina Enea is a Romanian film producer, production designer, and casting director, known for her work in independent cinema. She has produced and financed multiple short films, including Dear Santa Claus (2018), Părfect(2022), and Double of Nothing (2024), securing selections in over 40 festivals and distribution on platforms such as HBO, PRO Cinema, and Shorts TV.
As Executive Producer of The New Year That Never Came (2024), she played a key role in its national distribution and international success, including winning Best Film in the Orizzonti section at the Venice International Film Festival. Her recent productions include Kid Hazard (live-action feature, pre-production), As I Look Out the Window (animated short, pre-production), Comatogen (fiction, feature, 2024), Warboy (2023, Marian Crișan), and Lost and Found (documentary, wip).
Her style is easy to recognize by her stubbornness to find solutions and a fresh perspective on the cinema industry. This is shaped by her diverse background beyond cinema: a degree in Economics, seven years of corporate experience in the Swiss pharmaceutical industry (sales analytics & CRM project management), and over 15 years of entrepreneurship in event organizing, PR & marketing strategies, and jewelry design.
In 2020, she founded Baking Films, a production company based in Argeș and Bucharest, focusing on independent features, shorts, and audio theatre, with a particular interest in films dedicated to children and young audiences.
